Program details

Based upon the Con Amor Aprendemos program (CAA), With Love We Learn (WLWL) has been adapted for the African American Community in the United States. As with CAA, WLWL is an evidence-based program designed by the Cervical Cancer Foundation formerly the Spirit Foundation and the South Atlantic Division of the American Cancer Society to educate African American couples about the human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer in a culturally appropriate manner. WLWL takes a unique approach as it works with couples to help them understand HPV and cervical cancer prevention through healthy behaviors, open conversations, and regular screening.
The adaptation of the WLWL program for African American couples was made possible through a 2011 Legacy Grant from the Morehouse School of Medicine. Two faith-based organizations in Atlanta, Georgia have participated in the first WLWL Train the Trainer and pilot program. In the US, the “With Love We Learn!” educational programs have grown nationwide and are provided to members of local churches in Atlanta, Georgia.
